Gretchen and Ben's Fairytale Romance Wedding by Asheville, NC Wedding & Portrait Photographer

Gretchen and Ben's fairytale wedding at Castle Ladyhawke arrived with perfect weather and sunny skies! I arrived at The Castle a little bit before the girls started getting ready and ate brunch with the bridal party, it was a great time to relax before the events of the day started. Gretchen was incredibly calm on her wedding day due to the incredible amount of thought and planning she put into her wedding day before it arrived.

It was a beautiful thing to see her vision for her wedding day come together so flawlessly! The bridesmaids delicately tied the jewelled sash on her dress and placed the cathedral veil edged in lace on her head and Gretchen's bridal ensemble was complete. While downstairs Ben was anxiously getting dressed in his elegant tuxedo and joking around with his Navy buddies! David from Gudger's Flowers placed the finishing touches on the roses and peonies that were sprinkled everywhere throughout the castle while Deni Cole from Werks of The Heart Cakes assembled Gretchen's 4 layered crystal encrusted wedding cake complete with chandelier led stand.

Seeing Ben's face as he turned around to face Gretchen during their first look was like seeing a person see light for the first time! His entire face lit up and the love radiating out of both of them was so contagious it affected everyone around them.

Gretchen and Ben chose to write their own vows and hearing the story of their relationship and how their love for each other has grown more with time that passes assured me that their marriage is one that will stand the test of time. Everything about their wedding day was a fairytale, but at the end of the day what's left after the wedding isn't the flowers, or cake, or decorations, what is left is the strong bond that they share. And they lived happily ever after.......

And huge thank you to Gretchen's Matron of Honor, Rebecca, for snapping this photo of me and Gretchen together! :)
