Beautiful As a Butterfly by Asheville NC Wedding & Portrait Photographer

My gran passed away today and I couldn't help but think of an image I recently shot of a butterfly.

My Gran loved butterflies! Butterflies are known for their transformative properties. They spend part of their life as a small caterpillar then transform into a flitting, beautiful butterfly.  My gran also had transformative properties, she could take simple food and turn it into the best peanut butter fudge or biscuits and gravy you've ever tasted, she could take cloth and turn it into gorgeous, fitted doll clothes or dresses. She made my mom's wedding dress with imported lace and that dress was as beautiful and fit as well as any dress one might find in Vera Wang.   She may not have created a cure for cancer or travelled to space and walked on the moon, but she loved her family and everyone knew that.  I have heard many people say that in life you should find what you are good at and stick to it and that is exactly what Gran did: she knew she was good at sewing and cooking so she took those talents and used them to bless her family.  Gran- I will miss you and your selfless focus and giving of yourself during the time we spent together! I know though that you are in heaven now and that the butterflies there are more beautiful than any on this earth.

Jessica and Drew's Asheville Courthouse Wedding by Asheville, NC Wedding & Portrait Photographer

I had the pleasure of meeting Jessica over a year ago when I shot Tiffany and Chip's Wedding at The Grand Bohemian Hotel.  Jessica did the makeup on the brides and bridesmaids and she was just the sweetest person and really made the bride not only look beautiful, but feel beautiful as well! I so enjoyed spending a beautiful sunny afternoon with Jessica and Drew and capturing their sweet wedding! Jessica looked stunning in a creme and robin's egg blue dress and the groom's paisley tie was the perfect compliment to the bride's ensemble.  We spent some time with their sweet puppies Jasper and Wally and then we went to their favorite date spot The French Broad Chocolate Lounge where they shared a cupcake (and I must add they were so sweet and got me a piece of cheesecake to enjoy while we were shooting there.) The fun day ended at the Asheville City Courthouse where I got to be a witness to their marriage ceremony and capture images of them in the beautiful art deco interior of the courthouse!! Congrats Jessica and Drew! Thank you for letting me come along for your wedding day!!

How To Use Showit's Pass Software by Asheville, NC Wedding & Portrait Photographer

Today's post is just a short little video on how to use the PASS digital software.  PASS is the digital software I use to get the edited images to my clients. It's a beautiful gallery that is fully downloadable and you can also order prints from it! This video is nothing fancy and please excuse my sniffly nose and over usage of the word "ummmm!" :) hope this helps PASS make more sense to all of you!
