Tiffany & Chip's Grand Bohemian Hotel Wedding Part One by Asheville, NC Portrait Photographer

I couldn't be more excited to write today's blog post and share these images with you.  Today is the day to share Part One of Tiffany and Chip's Grand Bohemian Hotel Wedding: http://www.bohemianhotelasheville.com/, my first wedding! To view images from their January engagement session, look here: http://gvhphotographie.blogspot.com/2012/02/session-friday-tiffany-chips-engagement.html June 9th, 2012 is the wonderful day that Tiffany and Chip started their life together! Their wedding day arrived with lovely cerulean colored, sunny skies! I joined Tiffany and Chip with their family and friends as they got ready at the Grand Bohemian Hotel in Biltmore Village, Asheville, NC.  Tiffany was one of the most relaxed brides I have ever seen and was such a pleasure to work with the whole day.  Jessica Trachina, from Blush by Wendy Ballance: http://www.ashevillemakeupartist.com/ provided makeup services for the day and made Tiffany look like a beautiful blushing bride!  Chip and his groomsmen enjoyed watching a baseball game as they got dressed in their elegant black tuxes and dapper shoes.  All of the details at their wedding were absolutely gorgeous from the sparkling crystal chandeliers in the grand ballroom, to the vintage stained doors with rose and hydrangea floral wreaths adorning them. The vintage floral arrangements were provided by Blossoms at Biltmore Park: http://www.BlossomsAtBiltmorePark.com/ and the wedding cake was provide by Tiffany's Baking Co., which in my opinion was one of the tastiest cakes I have ever had! Enjoy seeing some of the getting ready, detail, and ceremony images from their special day and stay tuned for Part Two of their wedding coming to the blog tomorrow! And....today just happens to be Tiffany's 25th Birthday!! Happy Birthday Tiffany!!! :)

Phillip's Family Carolina Beach Session by Asheville, NC Portrait Photographer

Some of my favorite people in the world to take pictures of, just so happens to be my family! Stephen and I recently went to Carolina Beach (on the North Carolina Coast) over Mother's Day weekend with my family and we had such a blast just hanging out on the beach and eating good food together.  I recently realized that my parent's hadn't had their pictures professionally taken in several years and they didn't have any professional images of themselves with their grandkids! So....for Mother's Day we all packed clothes based around a certain theme and surprised my mom with a Mother's Day family session on the beach! I think many will agree with me that I have beautiful family and I especially have two really ridiculously good looking parents ;) lol.  Hope you enjoy these mom!! xoxo.

Happy Father's Day by Asheville, NC Portrait Photographer

Today's post is dedicated to someone who I love and admire so very much, my father.  For those of you reading this please take a minute to open this video: http://vimeo.com/28638402 and listen to this song while you are reading! I listened to Youth Lagoon's "Montana," when I was writing this for my dad! Dad this is for you:

I don't know that I have ever told my dad what I truly think of him...perhaps it's because sometimes I am shy with really speaking my mind or perhaps it's because it is hard for a sentimental, emotional person such as myself to tell those around me just how much I love them without getting absolutely choked up. My dad started his own landscaping company in 1985 and I think part of the reason I was inspired and had the guts to start my own business is because of the example my father set. Btw I just have to add in here at some point that my dad (in my opinion) is seriously one of the most talented landscape designers on the East Coast....his work is beautiful and I don't think he gets enough credit for the artistry and  absolutely brilliant way he uses plants and puts together designs...he creates outdoor tapestries that would turn any person into a outdoor nature lover.

When I think of my dad, I think of someone that when I was a little child took me out on the screened in porch at our log cabin to hear the birds sing, I think of someone who told my sister and I bedtime stories before bed each night (with different voices and hand gestures I might add) and would always tell us more than one story even when he had worked a full day and was incredibly tired, I think of someone who I would run out into the driveway each night at the end of the day to greet as he got out of his work truck because I was so excited to see him and tell him about my day, I think of the person who had neverending patience when he was teaching me to ride a bike and to drive a car, I think of a person who worked very long work weeks running his own business but was never too tired to go out in the yard at the end of the day with his four kids and throw the football around, I think of someone who showed me the example of how a husband should treat his wife and children, I think of someone who treated me like a princess and instilled a strong sense of self worth in me as a young girl, mostly though I think of a wonderful person who has lived his life with an outstanding amount of integrity, love, and grace for those around him.  Dad, today is your day and I may not tell you enough, but I so love and admire you and I always will. Thank you for raising me and for showing me what a "man" is supposed to be like, I am proud to call myself your daughter.

Ella's Candler Children's Session by Asheville, NC Portrait Photorgrapher

When I think of my little niece Ella I think of the old quote that says, "Sugar & spice & everything nice!"  It describes her perfectly because she is such a little sweetie and is the girliest, daintiest creature I think I've ever met.  Two things that everyone should know about me by now is that 1.) I loooooveee my family! and 2.) I am crazy about my nieces and nephews!  A couple of weeks ago my hubby and I were having dinner at my brother's house in Candler, NC and my sister in law Melissa just so happened to show me Ella's adorable sweet as cherry pie outfit! Being a photographer and seeing such a cute outfit, I suggested that we do a quick little session outside right then and there!! The results are cute as can be and fit my little nieces personality to a tee.  Enjoy her many faces, I know I do!
